It is with deep sadness that the family of Gail Annette Edmunds announces her passing on April 20, 2017 in London, Ontario. Gail passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, she was the second daughter of Ena and Cort Elkins. She was predeceased by her mother Ena Elkins (Critch), and her sister Linda Elkins. She will forever be remembered, loved and missed by her husband of 40 years, Alan Edmunds, her daughters Andrea (Peter) Leask, and Lindsey (David) Edmunds, her father Cort Elkins, her brother Barry (Debbie) Elkins, and her nieces Anna and Amanda Elkins. Gail lived a life full of love, purpose and adventure with Alan by her side. They lived throughout Canada before settling in Ontario. Gail graduated with a Master's in Education and she had an amazing career as an editor, writer and researcher. The greatest joy that Gail and Alan shared was raising and witnessing the lives of their two beautiful, kind and talented daughters. Gail's life also included a passion for photography, dance, musical theatre, and her dogs, Erin, Mandy, Floyd, Maggie, Nike and Kali. Over the last few years Gail and Alan spent their summers in Newfoundland where she spent quality time with her family, reconnected with old friends and enjoyed the beauty of the place she always called home. Gail will be remembered at a private family ceremony in St Thomas, Ontario and simultaneously at a ceremony in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ena Elkins Scholarship Fund, Corner Brook Rotary Music Festival Association P.O. Box 643 Corner Brook, NL A2H 6G1.
